Year 1 Goals

Expect the first year to focus on practicing technical and non-technical skills while building a visible project as a team. Team members should discuss project goals, plan and accomplish tasks, update each other on progress, and combine efforts into collaborative work products.

Collaboration and leadership will be tested while presenting and applying to public competitions. Our teams have competed at Intel Science Fair, Synopsys, Broadcom, Conrad Challenge, Diamond Challenge, Blue Ocean, LaunchX, etc.

Year 2 Goals

Solid Prototype

Building Strong Leadership and Team Play Skills

Applying to Global Entrepreneurship Competitions (National and International) As a Serious Contender.

Expect the second year to focus on intensive work, requiring perseverance, technical execution, problem-solving, and prioritization skills. Team goals should be much more precise in the second year after recognizing the initial prototype and receiving feedback from outside the team.

The team should start building a community of “early adopters” (locally and globally) and gathering data such as market testing and user feedback to accelerate product development.

Year 3 Goals

Expect the third year to focus on pushing the project beyond the scale of a small team. Depending on competition and the project's nature, teams may file for patents, set up robust technical infrastructure, manage finances, and establish legal entities to launch more realistic business operations.

Social and non-profit teams may work with local and global partners to distribute and support their apps. Social media, blog articles, and workshop events are heavily used to build each team's project community.

BerriBasket

BerriBasket is an online marketplace that directly connects local farmers to their community. The marketplace will allow community members to either order from their local farmers' markets for pickup or order delivery.

EcoHero

Eco Hero is an environment-themed online chess game to raise awareness of global warming and other horrendous environmental pollutions. While playing this online chess game, players will learn about environment trivia and get to partner with valuable eco-friendly organizations.

CityPlug

CityPlug is a team of 3 California-based high school students tackling the need for greater EV charging infrastructure. The team developed an algorithm that is able to determine optimal zones in cities for EV charging investment across a variety of KPIs. Upon determining optimal areas for EV investment, the solution provides tailored insights on the readiness for charging stations at a given location, providing scalable yet customizable insights needed to convince these businesses to invest in green energy. This solution provides actionable insights to aid both public and private sectors in the critical fight to reduce carbon emissions and advance national electrification.

Electronic Donkeys

Electronic Donkey team is building a small electric vehicle that carries objects for people by using AI to self-drive. The team is also working on a companion phone app to customize the EV to fit users' needs.

AI Music Team

AI Music Team is building an ideal tuner/practice assistant for orchestras, music teachers, private studios, and students aimed at giving them a more accessible music teacher in an app. This way, students have access to more consistent feedback using their AI-based program. They want to make sure that students who are unable to afford a teacher or without the time to consistently contact a teacher have a chance to practice and improve.

Ocean Club

Ocean Club focuses on creating a community of people with similar passions surrounding environmental literacy. Much like Kickstarter, members can collaborate with like-minded individuals to embark on projects to spreads awareness and tackle environmental issues, the first of which is a controllable robot fish that we are currently working on producing.

enVibrant

enVibrant is a platform that allows environmental NPOs to effectively connect to personalized resources and volunteers (namely, students) through preference-based filters and suggestions, thereby creating a steady synergy between NPOs with a noble cause but a tight budget and youth passionate about creating a positive change, to advocate sustainability globally through a "do-more" approach.

Peace of Mind

Peace of Mind (POM) is an online journaling application targeted towards astronauts to identify their mental health issue type and give recommendations accordingly. Even though our primary target audience would be astronauts, our app will be available for everyday people as well because it provides sentiment analysis, calendar features, and a space for expression, which would be incredibly impactful for many people.
